Advanced Labour Relations Management (ALRM)
The programme equips delegates with the advanced knowledge and skills required to function effectively in the areas of collective bargaining and negotiation, the application of labour legislation, implementation of workplace procedures, dispute resolution and strategic labour relations (LR) management.
After completion of the programme, delegates will be able to: - analyse the interaction between components in an advanced LR system and develop appropriate strategies for managing LR in a complex LR system; - implement and maintain workplace labour relations procedures; - develop appropriate collective bargaining strategies; - develop strategies for dealing with diversity and employee wellness; and - participate in complex dispute resolution and identify strategic influences on LR in South Africa.
The first four blocks of the programme cover the following topics: 1. Labour relations management practice (LRM) 2. Managing performance, discipline and dismissal (MPD) 3. Union rights and negotiation (URN) 4. Labour dispute resolution for labour relation practitioners (LDR) The following additional topics are covered in block 5: 1.
